Large NJ wildire mostly contained after large plumes of smoke were visible

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is battling a wildfire in Evesham Township, Burlington County Wednesday afternoon.

The wildfire as of 9:30 p.m. has spread to 40 acres and was 90% contained.

The fire is burning in the area of Sycamore Avenue. Residents in the southern portion of the township will smell smoke until a soaking rain occurs, officials said.

The number of structures threatened dropped from 15 to zero structures, while no evacuations happened.

There are also no road closures.
