Shooter Guns Down PPA Worker Walking His Chihuahuas in West Philly

A gunman shot and killed a 34-year-old man out walking his two small dogs in west Philadelphia Wednesday night.

It happened at about 7:40 p.m. along the 4600 block of Kingsessing Avenue, according to Philadelphia Police.

The victim, later identified as Mark Marshall, was walking with his two Chihuahuas when a gunman opened fire, shooting him in the neck, chest, back, arms and legs, police said. Marshall was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Marshall, who worked for the Philadelphia Parking Authority, lived in a home about a block away from where he was shot, police said.

Investigators described the shooter as a man in a gray hoodie and orange hat who jumped into the passenger seat of a silver minivan that took off.

The dogs were placed in the care of a neighbor.
