Small Plane Crashes on Montgomery County Golf Course/Runway

The small plane crashed and broke in half at the Butter Valley Golf Port in Upper Hanover, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

A small plane crashed on a golf course in Montgomery County on Sunday. NBC10’s Deanna Durante has the details.

One person was hospitalized after a small plane carrying four people crashed on a golf course on the border of Montgomery and Berks counties Sunday.

The small plane crashed and broke in half at the Butter Valley Golf Port in Upper Hanover, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania around 3 p.m.

Butter Valley is both a golf course and a public landing strip for private Cessna Single engine style planes. The small planes normally land and takeoff while people play golf on the course.

One person on board was taken to a local hospital with some sort of medical issue but it was unclear if the issue was caused by crash.

Airport owner John Gehman tells The Reading Eagle that the crash likely was caused by a wind gust that caught the plane at just the right moment.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
