The team and City of Philadelphia announced the details for the celebration moments after the final out was called.
Floats will begin to roll eastbound from 20th and Market Streets at noon on Friday. The parade will make a turn south at City Hall follow Broad Street down into the heart of South Philly on its way to the Sports Complex.
The parade will end, with much fanfare I'm sure, at Citizens Bank Park -- site of the Phillies World Series win.
Mayor Nutter is super-psyched about the celebration. “Phillies fans have been waiting 28 years for this day,” Nutter said in a statement. “We deserve this win. I can’t wait to share this day with Phillies fans from across the City, state, and even country.”
The city is urging people to take public transportation to the event citing limited parking and large crowds. So do yourself a favor and take SEPTA, its less aggravation and good for the environment.
