Emergency crews responded to a fuel truck fire Monday night at the Philadelphia International Airport. Officials say the truck caught fire next to a US Airways plane at the “F” terminal. The plane was not damaged. Officials also say only the cab of the truck caught fire and not the fuel in the tanker. No one was injured in the incident and no flights have been affected. Officials continue to investigate the cause.
This was the second incident to happen at Philly International on Monday. Earlier in the day, a trailer that was being towed disengaged from its hitch and rolled onto the taxiway, becoming wedged underneath a US Airways A320 airbus. The plane’s landing gear door was damaged in the collision. There were 139 passengers on the plane at the time of the crash. None of them were injured and they were all taken off the plane.
