At Least 1 Firefighter Hurt in Chester County House Fire

At least one firefighter was hurt in a house fire in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. NBC10 obtained cellphone video of the blaze.

At least one firefighter was hurt after a fire spread to two homes in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Sunday night.

The fire started at a home on the 700 block of South 1st Avenue and spread to an adjacent home. Renata Holmes of Coatesville, told NBC10 the second home is historic for her family who migrated to the house from the south more than 50 years ago. Holmes told NBC10 her cousin lived in the home by himself at the time of the fire.

"My cousin Kenny, he was there alone and he was downstairs and he saw the fire and he ran outside," Holmes said.

Responding firefighters were able to bring the flames under control at 9:41 p.m.

Officials said at least one firefighter was injured though they have not yet revealed his or her condition. They continue to investigate the cause.
