2 Civilians, Firefighter Injured in Auto Body Shop Fire

Firefighters are continuing to put out hotspots at the scene of a 6-alarm fire in Frankford. Most of the scene has turned to ice.

Three people, including a firefighter, were taken to Temple University Hospital early Saturday afternoon during a massive fire at an auto body shop in the Frankford section of the city.

The six-alarm fire broke out just before 11 a.m. at an auto body shop on the 4600 block of Griscom Street, according to fire officials. The fire was placed under control shortly after 2 p.m.

A responding firefighter and two civilians were injured during the blaze and taken to area hospitals. Officials have not yet revealed their conditions. They continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
