One woman was injured and family pets -- specifically cats -- were killed in a fire at a home in Upper Darby, in Delaware County, on Monday morning.

According to fire officials, as of about 6:28 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 9200 block of West Chester Pike on Monday morning, as smoke poured from a home there.

NBC10's SkyForce10 captured images in the morning of firefighters scrambling across the roof of the building as they worked to address the flames.

Officials said a woman was removed from the home and was taken to hospital during the course of this incident. However, her condition was not immediately known.

Also, officials said cats were killed in flames - though, officials did not say how many -- and multiple families evacuated.

During the morning, traffic along West Chester Pike in that area was blocked by fire trucks as the fire crews worked to put the fire under control.

As of about 9 a.m., the fire had been brought under control.
