Distraction Thieves on Multistate Electronics Robbery Spree Hit Up Philly suburbs: Police

A string of robberies stretching from North Carolina to New Jersey have come to parts of Montgomery County. The suspects in these robberies have collected almost $6,000 in stolen cellphones and tablets.

Three men who've been targeting cellphone and electronics stores along the East Coast using distraction tactics are now suspects in two heists in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Police from North Carolina to New Jersey have been looking for the men who are believed to be from the Washington, D.C.-Maryland area.

Now police in Upper Gwynedd Township say they believe the trio hit two stores there last month.

Township police said the men hit an AT&T store along Valley Forge Road in Lansdale on Jan. 19, stealing six cellphones and two iPads. That same day, police say they stole a cellphone from a display at a Sprint store in the Plymouth Meeting Mall.

Police named one suspect is Delonte Davis, of Bowie, Maryland. They've not identified the others.

Upper Gwynedd Township Police asked anyone with information on the heists to give them a call at 215-699-5861.
