Philadelphia Police arrested a 29-year-old man after his elderly father was stabbed to death inside his home.
Officers found Solomon Gethers unresponsive with stab wounds above his eye and the back of his neck inside a house on the 5700 block of Woodbine Avenue Wednesday afternoon. The 82-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police later took Solomon's son, Victor Gethers, who also lives at the home, into custody.
"The 29-year-old son lives here," said Philadelphia Police Lt. John Walker. "[He] has been taken to homicide and is currently being investigated for this murder."
Investigators said the stabbing occurred during a domestic argument.
Neighbors told NBC10 the victim was terminally ill and had only a few months left to live.
"Very good people," said Elaine Garvin, one of the neighbors. "It's a good family. It's just very sad, you know?"
