Drunk Man Smashes Bank Window, Offers to Pay Damages

Police say the man admitted he was intoxicated Thursday when he kicked the glass pane in the bank's rear door.

Police say a New Jersey man who allegedly broke a bank window was arrested when he returned to the scene to offer to pay for the damage.

The Times of Trenton reports that 28-year-old Arthur Shockley of Princeton has been charged with criminal mischief after admitting to police he smashed in the window of a Wells Fargo branch a few doors down from his residence.

Police say Shockley admitted he was intoxicated Thursday when he kicked the glass pane in the bank's rear door.

Police were notified Friday morning of a suspicious man near the broken bank door.

Shockley allegedly told them he was waiting for the manager to arrive and was there to pay for the damage.

It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
