Police are investigating a deadly case of animal cruelty in Chester City. The bodies of two dogs were found tied up and burned Saturday night.
Crews responded to the 2800 block of W. 6th Street where they found two dogs that had been tied up and set on fire in an alley behind a garage. Both dogs, which investigators say appeared to be mixed-breed pit bulls, died from their injuries.
Officials say both dogs were also inside a tote and may have already been dead before being placed in the bag and set on fire. Officials will perform necropsies on the dogs to determine a cause of death.
Chester Police are handling the investigation. Officials have not yet released information on any suspects.
