Man Charged With Human Trafficking in Delaware

Officials say 55-year-old Jorge Arcinieja of Georgetown was arrested Thursday.

Authorities have charged a Delaware man with human trafficking following an investigation by state and federal officials into an alleged prostitution operation in Georgetown.

Officials say 55-year-old Jorge Arcinieja of Georgetown was arrested Thursday. Arcinieja is charged with human trafficking for sexual servitude, trafficking an individual, and conspiracy. He is being held under $250,000 cash bond.

The arrest occurred after a lengthy investigation of an alleged prostitution operation at a mobile home on Garden Circle in the County Seat Mobile Home Park. Detectives obtained a search warrant after they spotted several vehicles and men frequent the home for a short period of time before leaving.

When investigators tried to enter the home, Arcinieja allegedly tried to flee out of the backdoor. He was taken into custody without incident. A 25-year-old woman from the Dominican Republic was found in a bedroom, along with items used in commercial sex trade.

Authorities say the woman was confined to the bedroom and forced to perform illicit acts with men.
