A man was found stabbed to death inside an SUV parked outside of a South Philadelphia Wawa early Monday.
The stabbing took place around in the parking lot of the convenience store at 1602 South Columbus Boulevard, Philadelphia police said.
Police officers arrived just before 4 a.m. to find Roger Segal stabbed at least once in his abdomen while inside a parked SUV, police said. The 49-year-old man had come into the Wawa to order food around 1 a.m. and then went out to his car to eat.

After a couple of hours, customers realized something was wrong and they told workers who then contacted police, investigators said.
Fire rescue came and Segal out of the car. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
An area in front of the store was blocked off with yellow police tape for hours after the incident. Police officers could be seen talking to people inside the store and searching for clues outside, including focusing on a black SUV with its window broken.

Police didn't name a suspect or offer a motive in Monday morning's homicide.
In a brief statement, a Wawa spokesperson said "we are working closely with Law Enforcement to support their investigation."
This wasn't the first deadly incident outside that particular Wawa in the past year. A man was shot and killed outside the store on Oct. 1.
To date, there have at least 62 homicides in Philadelphia in 2022, down 6% from the same time last year, which ended with a record number of killings.
