Driver killed after car crashes into North Philly home, 2 passengers injured

Police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a North Philadelphia home leaving the driver dead and two passengers injured. 

A driver is dead, and two passengers were injured after a car crashed into a North Philadelphia home Thursday evening, officials said.

According to police, the incident happened just before midnight on the 6200 block of Broad St.

Police said a 32-year-old woman had been driving a 2008 Nissan southbound on Broad St. from Chelten Ave. It appears that the woman made a hard left turn and accelerated, striking a raised porch of a home.

After the crash, the woman and two passengers—a 34-year-old man and a 3-year-old child— were taken to the hospital by medics, according to police.

Police said the woman died from her injuries at 12:53 a.m. on Friday.

Both the man and the child are currently listed in stable condition, according to police.
