Prosecutors are looking into allegations a suburban Philadelphia mayor fired a gun inside his home last month during an encounter with another man.
The Delaware County Daily Times reports no charges have been filed against Marcus Hook Mayor James "Jay" Schiliro in connection with the incident, which allegedly happened late Feb. 21 or early Feb. 22.
District Attorney Jack Whelan says it's an ongoing investigation, but that all firearms belonging to Schiliro have been confiscated.
An affidavit of probable cause for a search warrant alleges Schiliro fired a gun into some papers on the floor, causing a 20-year-old man to be "in fear of his life."
The 38-year-old Schiliro's attorney, Michael Malloy, blamed the incident on alcohol consumption. He says his client has entered an outpatient treatment program.
