Coast Guard Officers Ready to Enforce ‘No-Fly Zone' During Papal Weekend

Coast Guard officers say they will enforce a 12 mile 'no-fly zone' around Center City Philadelphia Saturday through Sunday as Pope Francis visits the city.

Two U.S Coast Guard helicopters refueled at a heliport near Penn's Landing Friday afternoon ahead of the weekend mission.

The "no-fly zone" applies to gliders and small planes, but also remote-controlled devices such as model aircrafts and drones.

The Coast Guard could also be seen staffing armed boats in the Schuylkill River. Traffic in the river will be stopped near Center City when the pope lands at Philadelphia International Airport Saturday morning.
