Coach Arrested Again, Sex Assault Charges This Time

The high school baseball coach arrested on charges of giving drugs and alcohol to a student was arrested a day later -- this time for raping a 13-year-old.

The head coach at a South Philadelphia high school is arrested a second time in as many days after a teenaged boy accuses him of sexual assault.

Less than a day after being arrested for allegedly bringing a 14-year-old boy to a hotel room and giving him beer and a prescription drugs, a South Philly high school baseball coach was arrested again.

Louis Spadaccini, a baseball coach at Sts. Neumann and Goretti High School, was re-arrested at about 10 p.m. Tuesday after a second alleged victim came forward.

He was arraigned around 3 a.m. on Thurday morning and bail was set at $2 million. So far, Spadaccini remains behind bars facing new charges, including the sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.

Police say Spadaccini gave the 13-year-old boy alcohol and had sexual contact with him on three occasions in July and August. One of the sexual assaults happened at the Spadaccini’s house, the other two assaults happened at the Holiday Inn on Packer Avenue, police say.

Spadiccini was charged with involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of  a child, simple assault, reckless endangerment, indecent assault, furnishing alcohol to a minor and other related offenses

The 13-year-old came forward after Spadaccini was arrested Monday for allegedly bringing a 14-year-old Freshman baseball player to the same Holiday Inn and giving alcohol and mixing Xanax into the boy’s drink.

In the case of the 14-year-old, Spadaccini was arrested on charges of child endangerment, corrupting the morals of a minor, simple assault, furnishing alcohol to a minor, interference with the custody of a child, luring a child, and distributing narcotics.

Police told the Inquirer that there is no evidence that the 14-year-old was sexually assaulted.

Spadaccini, 37, of South Philadelphia, works at the Court of Common Pleas and coached varsity and junior varsity baseball at Neumann-Goretti. Spadaccini is now on administrative leave.
