A woman who was disabled was killed in hit-and-run along the Lower Merion side of City Avenue early Monday morning.
Lower Merion Township police officers rushed to City Avenue near Conshohocken State Road just around 2:14 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, Police Lt. Justin Judge said.
"A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene," Judge said.
The woman, 61, suffered critical injuries and died a short time later at the hospital, Det. Sgt. Michael Keenan said during a press conference Monday afternoon.

A wheelchair could be seen on a wet City Avenue after the deadly hit-and-run crash overnight. Keenan said the victim was disabled, in a wheelchair and was a former resident of Philadelphia. She was unhoused at the time of the crash.
Police have identified the car they believe is responsible and the driver who they are searching for in connection to this incident.
The striking vehicle is described as a late model Toyota Camry, dark colored paint, four door sedan, heavy tint on all windows, with a probable Pa. registration. The vehicle will have damage to the lower passenger front bumper, passenger front quarter panel and possibly the passenger side mirror. The vehicle may also have scratches along the length of the passenger side, Keenan said.

Police say the diver got out of the car and looked at the damage done to his car after the crash before driving away.
"This is a person who knows what they did. So, if you're watching the broadcast and you know what you did, it's time to turn yourself in," Keenan said.
The driver they are searching for is a man that was wearing a black Nike-branded sweatshirt and sweatpants with the words "Just Do It" across the front of the sweatshirt, Keenan said.
Video evidence showed that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed.
“Vehicle was traveling faster than a vehicle typically would no matter the area or the hour,” Keenan said.
The crash left City Avenue closed for hours Monday morning as police investigated.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen this crash or the driver responsible to reach out to them.
Keenan also had a message for the driver responsible for the deadly crash and anyone that knows them.
"People need to take responsibilities for their actions. It's understandable that someone may be scared or upset. It's in their best interest to turn themselves in," Keenan said. "Notify police as soon as you can...Please do the right thing and let us know."
The striking vehicle was last seen south on City Avenue going at a high rate of speed.
Investigators asked anyone who might have witnessed the crash to call them at 610-649-1000.
