Man Faces Charges for Church Fair Melee Over the Summer

A man faces misdemeanor charges stemming from a melee that left multiple people stabbed following fair in a suburban Philadelphia church parking lot.

Police in Tullytown shut down the Saint Michael's Fair early on June 30 following several fights involving what police called a "large unruly group of teenagers."

Earlier this month, 21-year-old Quashaad James was charged with two counts of simple assault and fighting charges stemming from the fight.

LevittownNow.com reported that James told investigators he threw the first punch in the melee. Online court records say the Levittown man faces a preliminary hearing in February.

Over the summer, officers from around the lower end of the county worked the scene near the entrances of the Levittown Walmart. Nearby, Levittown Parkway was blocked due to police cars and officers who milled about near the entrance of the fair, a multi-day tradition in the area, reported LevittownNow.com.

No word yet if anyone else will face charges in the incident. Police didn't immeidately respond to NBC10's request for comment.
