Gov. Chris Christie has called the brightly colored, multi -patterned exterior of a massive mall and entertainment complex at the Meadowlands "the ugliest building in the world."
Now, state officials are hoping the developers at least redo the building's facade in time for the 2014 Super Bowl.
Christie adviser Jon F. Hanson tells The Star-Ledger he thinks the emphasis will be on remaking the exterior when construction restarts this year.
That's because the massive complex is practically next to MetLife Stadium, where the 2014 Super Bowl will be played.
It's also highly visible to travelers along the New Jersey Turnpike in East Rutherford.
Triple Five, the developer behind the American Dream complex, has conceded the complex won't be ready for the 2014 Super Bowl, as company officials hoped.
