Fire Quickly Spreads Across Delaware County Row Homes

Nine people were forced out of their rowhomes on Bickley Place in Chester when fire swept through overnight. One of the rowhomes affected by this blaze had been on fire just 24 hours earlier and a cause for the flames is being investigated.

Fire tore through a set of row homes Monday morning forcing Delaware County residents from the home.

The blaze along Bickley Place in Chester, Pennsylvania struck a day after an earlier fire damaged a home on the same block.

On Monday, the blaze appeared to begin in an abandoned home next to the earlier fire scene then spread through a common roof to the other homes.

In total, five buildings were damaged and 19 people were displaced.

Luckily, no one was hurt and Monday’s blaze was brought under control around 3 a.m., said county dispatchers.

The American Red Cross helped residents forced from their homes.

The cause of Monday's fire remained under investigation.
