Black Friday Alert

Give and receive shopping tips and advice this Black Friday.

Here's how we can all help each other out during the first big holiday shopping rush -- just tweet your shopping highs and lows using the hashtag #BlackFridayAlert

To map out what other shoppers are saying, just put BlackFridayAlert in the "Search Twitter" bar above!

Black Friday is synonymous with chaotic shopping. Every year after Thanksgiving, shoppers across the country get up really, REALLY early and face crazy crowds to get the best deals on the season’s most popular items.

There’s no doubt that the malls can be crowded and overwhelming, making it confusing and stressful to find the best deals or certain products. And there’s nothing worse than fighting the crowds only to find what you’ve been looking for has been sold out.

This year, help us, help you, help others.

In the spirit of the holidays, NBC10 invites you to participate in the Black Friday Shopping Alert. It only works if shoppers are willing to help one another by both asking for and giving advice.

Those out in the malls can relay and retrieve information from others via Twitter, Facebook and the comment section of this page.

Here's how you can help (and search):

Tweet helpful tidbits using the hashtag #blackfridayalert and others can search the tag using the Twitter widget below. Entering the hashtag in the search section of the map will reveal other shoppers tweeting about what they're seeing at stores in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
new TWTR.Widget({ version: 2, type: 'search', search: '#BlackFridayAlert', interval: 30000, title: 'NBC10 Philadelphia', subject: 'Black Friday Alert', width: 400, height: 300, theme: { shell: { background: '#0377ad', color: '#ffffff' }, tweets: { background: '#ffffff', color: '#444444', links: '#1985b5' } }, features: { scrollbar: false, loop: true, live: true, behavior: 'default' } }).render().start();

Not on Twitter? Use the comment section below to let others know helpful tips and experiences both good and bad (note, you'll need to be signed in to Facebook to post your comment).

So on Friday, let us -- and fellow shoppers -- know where you’re finding the best deals, what store has run out of a certain product and ask fellow shoppers, well, anything! Help make Black Friday a little less hectic for everyone and a little more enjoyable.

Happy shopping!!
