Authorities Work to ID Remains Found in South Jersey

Human remains were found in Camden.

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying remains found off an interstate highway in Camden.

Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk says the remains of an 18 to 25-year-old man were found around 3:50 p.m. Friday off I-676, near Morgan Boulevard and Broadway.

A forensic anthropologist determined the person was either mixed race or Hispanic, although inital reports suggested the man was African-American.  The examination also revealed the remains had been at the site for less than a year.

It is not yet clear what caused the man's death or when it happened.

Faulk said the man stood 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighed 150 to 175 pounds and had extensive dental work, including four crowned front teeth. He was found wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt.
