The Philly 4th of July Jam will be short one act as Ariana Grande pulls out of the concert unexpectedly Thursday afternoon.
Public Relations Manager for the Office of the City Representative Randy Giancaterino announced today that Grande would not perform in Friday's concert, a part of the week-long Wawa Welcome America event.
Though the city did not release the reason for the sudden drop out, Wawa Welcome America tweeted early Thursday that the singer had "unforeseen personal circumstances."
Grande issued this tweet earlier in the day:
NY I'm sorry u saw less of me this trip. off to the g-parents in FL. they need me & now I gotta be there. love u & thank u for understanding — Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) July 3, 2014
The Philly 4th of July Jam set list will still be a full one, featuring artists like Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, and local Philadelphia band The Roots.
The show, which is said to be the "Largest Free Concert in America," will take place tomorrow at 7 p.m. on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
