A Catholic archbishop in charge of organizing Pope Francis' September visit to Philadelphia is spending Monday in the city and will help to unveil a special milkshake hoped to raise cash for the World Meeting of Families conference.
Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family which oversees the triennial global conference, will participate in planning meetings with archdiocesan officials ahead of the weeklong event beginning September 22. He will then travel to Washington, D.C. before heading to El Salvador, officials said.
Paglia was supposed to visit in January, but canceled the trip at the last minute because he said additional details about the pontiff's visit to other U.S. cities needed to be hashed out.
Pope Francis will visit Philadelphia, New York and Washington D.C. in his first trip to the United States since becoming head of the church. While in Philadelphia, he's expected to celebrate an outdoor mass along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for 2 million citizens and visitors.
During the brief stop in Philly, Paglia will also help showcase a special milkshake created by Potbelly Sandwich Shops. The sandwich chain created three Philadelphia-themed shakes for the archbishop and students from Saint Peter the Apostle School and they will choose which one will be sold in Philly-area stores.

Fifty cents from each shake sold from April 1 through September 30 will be donated to cover costs of the World Meeting of Families and Pope Francis' visit.
