For the third time this week, school officials announced that a Delaware County Catholic grade school will close its doors forever.
The Delaware County Daily Times reports that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia says the decision to close St. Kevin School in Springfield is irreversible.
The announcement was made at a meeting at the school on Thursday night.
“I was informed of the decision last Friday…You can’t imagine the pain and anguish I feel," St. Kevin’s pastor Rev. John Moloney said, according to the Delco Times.
Like two other Delco schools, St. Philomena in Lansdowne and Our Lady of Charity in Brookhaven, St. Kevin’s is closing due to low enrollment.
