Man Faces Murder Charges in Death of Live-in Girlfriend's Young Daughter

Camden County prosecutors say Travis Graham admitted to striking the 3-year-old girl, causing her to fall down the stairs of their Gloucester Township home

A New Jersey man accused of killing his live-in girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter last year has been charged with murder.

Camden County prosecutors say Travis Graham initially told authorities he heard the child fall down a flight of stairs but caught her before she hit the bottom of the steps in March 2017.

But authorities say the 22-year-old Gloucester Township man told them last month that he and the child were on the top of the stairs and, when she wouldn't take a nap, he struck her across the forehead with the back of his hand. That knocked her down the steps.

Doctors diagnosed her as having a traumatic brain injury along with numerous bruises and healing rib fractures. She died the next day.

Graham is also charged with child endangerment. It wasn't known Wednesday if Graham has retained an attorney.
