2 Teens Shot to Death Outside Philly Homes

Philadelphia police say two teenagers were shot and killed while sitting in front of their homes in different parts of the city.

Police say 18-year-old Jamal El was sitting on the steps of his home in southwest Center City when he was shot twice in the chest at about 6:30 p.m. Friday. He died a short time later at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Almost four hours later, 17-year-old Taj Hutchins was shot in the chest outside his home in the Hunting Park section of North Philadelphia. He managed to call 911 but police say he died before paramedics arrived.

Police say they have not determined a motive or made an arrest in either case.
