On Saturday night a 14-year-old was shot and killed in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia.
On Monday morning, police identified the boy as Anthony Pinkney from the city's Kingsessing neighborhood.
The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. along the 6000 block of Haddington Lane, where investigators said, responding officers found Pinkney after he had been shot twice in the chest.
Police transported Pinkney to the hospital where he was pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m., according to officials.

According to law enforcement officials, Pinkney had been walking along with some of his friends on that block when they heard a "rapid succession" of gunfire.
Police said that witnesses told officers when the sound of gunfire stopped they saw Pinkney laying in the street after being shot.
At this time no arrests have been made and, police said, an investigation is ongoing.
