1 Dead, 2 Injured in Triple Shooting

A 23-year-old man is dead and two others are injured after a triple shooting in Camden.

Brian Burnett, 23, of Camden, was at the intersection of 3rd and Vine Streets on Saturday around 6:30 p.m. when an unknown suspect opened fire.

Burnett and two teenage boys, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, were all struck. Burnett was taken to Cooper Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:02 p.m.

The 18-year-old, who was shot in the chest, and the 17-year-old, who was shot in the leg, managed to run away after the shooting and were found by officers on the 600 block of 4th Street. The 17-year-old is currently under observation while the 18-year-old is in critical but stable condition.

Police are searching for a green older model Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows believed to be involved in the shooting.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the investigation.

Police are also investigating a triple shooting in Trenton. A man and two women were walking on West State Street around midnight when an unknown suspect opened fire, striking all three. They were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. One woman, who has not yet been identified, died from her injuries. The other two victims are still in critical condition.

No arrests have been made. Police have not yet released information on any suspects.
