A 27-year-old woman was found stabbed in the chest in Manayunk Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Ellen Rae Greenberg, according to Philadelphia School District officials.
Greenberg worked as a teacher at Juniata Park Academy for four years.
Her body was discovered by her fiance in a unit at the Venice Loft Condominiums at 4601 Flat Rock Rd. -- just one block from Main Street -- around 6:30 p.m.
Originally it was believed that the stabbing was possibly self-inflicted.
But the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide Thursday night.
Police have not ruled Greenberg's death a homicide however and are still looking at all possibilities, including suicide. Investigators are calling her death suspicious.
Greenberg was laid to rest on Friday near her family home in Harrisburg, Pa.
