A potent coastal storm will impact our area Wednesday and Thursday.
Starting Wednesday morning, wind and clouds will increase as the storm develops off the North Carolina coast. Steady rain will begin moving in later Wednesday morning and will be heavy at times. The rain will last into Thursday morning.
As the nor’easter intensifies Wednesday night, wind gusts above 50 mph are possible along the coast. Inland gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected.
Coastal flooding will be minor to moderate with each high tide Wednesday, not only along the coast, but also with the tidal sections of the Delaware River.
Initially, we may see a period of a wintry mix Wednesday morning north and west of Philadelphia. But as temperatures rise, it will change to all rain.
The rain will continue into Thursday along with gusty winds, but with a change in wind direction, coastal flooding should not be a problem. The storm will move out late Thursday.
This weekend though, we're in for a nice warm-up with nice dry conditions.
