Naming Criminals

An unusual study out of the University of Pennsylvania has to do with names and crime.

The study found that boys in the US with common names are less likely to commit crimes than those with uncommon names.

Names like Michael and David were found to be more common than names like Alec, Ivan or Malcolm.

Researchers claim that this is true regardless of race.

The kids could be acting out because their peers treat them differently or that they unconsciously dislike their name, researchers said.
