Philly's Best Happy Hour

Were you one of the many who made a resolution this New Year’s Eve to, in light of the economy, try and save just a little more?

It’s hard, isn’t it?

While we can’t help you with that shopping habit or your addition to Whole Foods, we can tell you where to find a cheap Happy Hour drink, at one of the city’s best Happy Hours. Check out the list below.

Citysearch: The Sidecar Bar & Grille
2201 Christian St.
The Sidecar Bar, Graduate Hospital’s most popular dive, is of the belief that one daily Happy Hour simply isn’t enough. That’s why, in addition to a regular Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m, the Sidecar’s also got a Late Nite Happy Hour from midnight to 2 a.m. Most drinks will cost you less than $4—but don't blame us if you end up spending all the cash you saved on something from the Sidecar's Cajun-inspired dinner menu.

Yelp Philadelphia:
Bump
1234 Locust St.
Ordinarily, Bump isn’t known for cheap drinks—its cocktails are generally priced $7 and up and tend to have extravagant-sounding names like “Gorgeous Geisha,” “Fashionista” and “Sex in the City.” But stop by the trendy Gayborhoood lounge between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for Happy Hour, and cocktails’ll cost you just $4 a pop. In the warmer months, you can enjoy Bump’s cheap drinks outdoors on its popular patio.

AOL City’s Best: Tir Na Nog

1600 Arch St.
We’re willing to bet AOL chose Tir Na Nog for Philly’s best Happy Hour primarily because of its location. Right in the heart of Center City’s financial district, the Irish bar is easily one of the most popular spots for the after work crowd—which makes it a prime spot for mingling and networking. Add to that an impressive beer list that includes more than 50 draughts and bottles and a food menu that would impress even the pickiest of eaters, and we’re pretty sure you’ll fall for the scene at Tir Na Nog, too.

Around Town pick: The Khyber
56 S. 2nd St.
We don’t know about you, but we frequent Philly Happy Hours for two reasons: people watching and cheap drinks. And in our opinion, the Khyber is king of both. Where else, we wonder, could you watch a weird conglomeration of hipsters, musicians, professionals and punks in a basement-like atmosphere—while drinking $1 domestic beers, $2 Yards pints? Yeah, that’s what we thought.
