Housed in a beautiful building that feels of old world Europe, Beau Monde offers an atmosphere of intimate alcoves, dark wood, candlelight and beautiful wall coverings.
The menu has a diverse list of ingredients you can mix and match for your savory (dinner) crepe or sweet (dessert) crepe.
I was told to come hungry. I didn’t. I should have.
I started out with the “Summer in Paris” cocktail made of champagne, peach nectar and Chambord. I recommend this for a night out with the girls: it’s fun, it’s light and delicious, and if you’re with your girls, you don’t have to feel like a frou frou jerk.
For dinner I chose the egg, goat cheese and ham crepe – with their sweet tomato sauce. I know it sounds like a bizarre combination, but it was delicious. After taking a bite of my friend’s crepe, I decided I should have gotten one with herbed butter, tomatoes, scallops, spinach and black olives. The crepe is always sweeter on the other side of the table.
For dessert I had a sweet crepe full of dark chocolate and bananas, topped with toasted coconut. It was so rich, I couldn’t get through half of it. I’d like to take this time to repeat: Come hungry.
Beau Monde is the perfect place to bring a date, a good friend or a large group. Go.
