Bail Set for Man Charged in A.C. Police Shooting

Bail is set at $840,000 for the man charged with shooting at an Atlantic City police officer.

24-year-old Gerald Spivey was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and injury to a law-enforcement animal.

Spivey was allegedly firing a handgun outside of Proud Mary's Bar at the corner of Sovereign and Fairmount Avenues in Atlantic City, N.J., according to police.

When Police officer Dawn Riggs saw Spivey shooting a gun outside the bar, Spivey supposedly began to fire multiple shots at Riggs after she exited her patrol car, said A.C. police.

Officer Riggs was not injured but bullets hit her patrol car and other vehicles in the area.
