Yukare Nakayama is a bilingual reporter for NBC10 and Telemundo62, where brings news to viewers throughout the day during weekdays.
A proud individual of Mexican and Japanese descent, Yukare embraces the opportunity to connect with the wide range of communities in Philadelphia. She joined the Philadelphia news team in February of 2024 after spending two years as a bilingual reporter at CBS 58 / Telemundo Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Before that, she worked as a reporter and multimedia journalist at WHBF News in Rock Island, Illinois.
“I’m excited to explore and connect with the diverse neighborhoods that make Philadelphia such a unique place,” Yukare shared. “What I enjoy most about this work is meeting people from all different backgrounds and learning from all walks of life.”
Yukare is particularly passionate about shedding light on stories from underserved communities, as well as those impacted by national issues such as gun violence. She believes in the power of storytelling to give a voice to those who are often overlooked.
Yukare graduated from American University in Washington, DC where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is an Emmy nominated Journalist.
Outside of work, Yukare enjoys staying active by going to the gym, sampling new foods, painting, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
