Miguel is a bilingual reporter for NBC10 and Telemundo62. You can watch his live reports throughout the day.
Miguel joined NBC10 and Telemundo62 in December 2017. Since then he has become an active part of the community and has fallen in love with the Greater Philadelphia area and its people.
“Philadelphia feels like home, and I am honored to be able to share our community’s stories every day,” said Miguel.
As a reporter, Miguel has had to cover difficult stories including the tragic Las Vegas shooting in 2017, the Parkland shooting in 2018, and the Uvalde shooting in 2022.
“The shooting itself was heartbreaking to cover. However, the aftermath, watching the community pull together to give blood, donate money, and comfort each other was truly inspiring.”
Miguel has also been fortunate to travel for some historic celebrations, such as the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and the 2023 Eagles Super Bowl run.
Prior to joining NBC10, Miguel spent two years as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KVVU-TV in Las Vegas. Prior to this, he worked as a reporter at Univision Las Vegas / KINC-TV and as a reporter/anchor at HOM-TV, the government access television station in Okemos, Michigan. Martinez-Valle also has experience working in radio as a reporter and producer for WDBM-FM in East Lansing, Michigan.
Miguel earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Michigan State University and has been recognized with a Pacific Southwest Emmy® award for his coverage of the 2016 Presidential Debate in Las Vegas, and most recently several Mid-Atlantic Emmys for his work with the NBC10 and Telemundo62 team. Miguel has also been named on several 40 under 40 lists by various Philadelphia publications.
Born in Guaymas, Mexico, Miguel comes from a supportive Mexican family. He is passionate about LGBTQ issues, immigration, and expanding positive minority representation on television. He is currently serving as the President of the Philadelphia chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and as the co-lead for OUT@NBCUniversal in Philadelphia.
When Miguel is not on the news, he enjoys traveling, hiking, going to brunch and listening to podcasts.
