Aaron Baskerville is a general assignment reporter for NBC10. You can watch his live reports weekdays at 4 PM, 5 PM, and 6 PM.
Aaron joined NBC10 in August 2017. His favorite part about being a journalist is telling a story that creates change in someone’s life. A native of the Philadelphia area, Aaron is most excited to tell the stories of his hometown.
“I love being out on the streets and telling the stories of our viewers,” he said. “It feels great at the end of the day when you tell a story that can help someone or make a difference in someone's life. I am excited to be back in Philadelphia. I was born here, and both my parents grew up in the city. My dad went to Overbrook High school, with my mother, and Temple University. I have always appreciated the tough, hard-working values associated with the city.”
One of the most the memorable stories Aaron has covered while working as a journalist was when he covered India Williams, a seven year old victim of gun violence who ended up paralyzed from the waist down. Aaron worked hard on this story, hoping to catch her shooter and get her a new wheelchair. This story had an impact on Aaron because he was inspired by the beauty and bubbly spirit of Williams despite her tragic incident at such a young age.
Born in Philadelphia, Aaron Baskerville comes to NBC10 from WXYZ in Detroit where he worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend fill-in anchor. He previously worked as an anchor and general assignment reporter at stations in Michigan, Illinois and New York, including WWMT in Kalamazoo, Michigan, CLTV in Chicago, Illinois and WKBW in Buffalo, New York. An award-winning journalist, Baskerville has been recognized by the New York State Broadcasters Association, Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications with a concentration in Broadcast Television from Indiana University. He has a master’s degree in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast Television from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
When Aaron is not on the news, he enjoys coaching his seven year old’s soccer and basketball teams, supporting the Eagles, and spending time with his family and friends.
