Carson Wentz has won his first award this season.
The Eagles' rookie quarterback won a fan vote and is the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week after his Week 1 performance against the Browns.
In his NFL debut, Wentz completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 278 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. After the performance, he has also become the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, according to Bovada (see story).
Wentz beat out Texans receiver Will Fuller, Giants receiver Sterling Shepard, Titans receiver Tajae Sharpe and Browns pass rusher Carl Nassib to win the weekly award.
The last Eagle to be named Pepsi Rookie of the Week was Zach Ertz in Week 13 of the 2013 season.
