A woman was injured and a man died in a murder-suicide attempt in West Philadelphia late Sunday morning, according to police.
The woman, 46, was shot a total of eight times and the man, who is in his 40s, shot himself in the head inside a home on the 4500 block of Spruce St. around 11:10, officials said.
Both victims were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.
The man died a short time later.
A gun was recovered at the scene.
