Teenage Boy Facing Murder Charge in Deadly New Jersey Street Shooting

Authorities say a teenage boy has been charged with murder in connection with a deadly street shooting.

Union County prosecutors say Union Township police found 19-year-old Jose Yamier Diago when they responded to report of shots fired around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The 17-year-old boy accused in the shooting and 22-year-old Union resident Willy Rodriguez-Gil were both arrested about 90 minutes later. The teen faces murder and weapons charges, while Rodriguez-Gil is charged with robbery.

The teen's name has not been released. It wasn't known Monday if he or Rodriguez-Gil have retained attorneys.
