Two of Philadelphia's finest are under arrest. Police Officer John Vandervort, 40, is accused of stealing. Vandervort has been on the job four years and is currently out on a leave of absence due to an injury. Now he is being suspended for 30 days with the intent to dismiss according ot the police department's news release.
Officer Darryl Cathey is a two-year veteran of the force. He's accused of assaulting his former girlfriend. Cathey, 23, is charged with robbery, terroristic threats, simple assault and related offenses. He has also been suspended for 30 days with intent to dismiss.
