Two businesses were destroyed and several others were heavily damaged in a three-alarm fire in New Jersey Thursday morning, fire officials say.
The blaze broke out at a strip mall on Main Street in Sayreville at about 7 a.m. and spread through a pizzeria, liquor store and other businesses, fire officials say.
The blaze was brought under control within a few hours, but the pizzeria and liquor store were gutted in the blaze. Several other businesses sustained smoke and water damage.
No one was injured in the fire.
A dry cleaner was among the businesses damaged, Sayreville Fire Department officials say. The dry cleaner told authorities he would be removing and restoring clothes and other items at another location.
Police and fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.
