A female was struck and killed by a SEPTA train in Montgomery County Sunday morning, officials confirmed.
The fatal incident happened about 11:10 a.m. along the Lansdale/Doylestown Regional Rail line in Ambler.
According to a SEPTA spokesperson, the unidentified female was in a restricted area when she was struck by the train that was en-route to downtown Philadelphia.
As a result of the incident, SEPTA temporarily suspended service on the line between Doylestown and Glenside.
The riders on the train were transported by shuttle buses to continue their trip.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
