Driver Runs Away After Overturning SUV on Philly Street, Leaves Behind Trapped Passenger

Philadelphia police are searching for the driver who fled the scene after crashing and overturning a SUV, leaving behind a trapped female passenger.

The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Potter Street in the city’s Kensington section.

According to investigators, the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slid on snow. The SUV then struck a pole and overturned on its side.

Police say a person at the scene broke the rear window, cut the driver’s seatbelt and that’s when the driver ran away.
