A northeastern Pennsylvania man who posted an online threat to kill President Barack Obama has been sentenced to a year in jail.
U.S. Attorney Peter Smith's office says a federal judge in Scranton on Wednesday also ordered Nicholas Savino to undergo two years of supervised release and forfeit his guns and ammunition.
Savino pleaded guilty in March to posting on the White House website a threat that said, "President Obama the Anti-Christ, As a result of breaking the constitution you will stand down or be shot dead."
Federal prosecutors acknowledged there was no evidence Savino had planned to kill Obama. They found three guns and about 11,000 rounds of ammunition in his apartment and car.
Savino has been in jail since being arrested last August, days after posting the threat.
