One man is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning in North Philadelphia.
At the Myspace Lounge on Germantown Avenue, close to Temple Hospital, an argument broke out among a group of men around 1:30 a.m Sunday. One man pulled a revolver and shot at two other men.
An off-duty police officer was in the bar when the shooting happened. He pulled his weapon and told the shooter to drop his gun. The gunman than turned his weapon on the officer and began firing, but missed. The officer returned fire and struck the gunman. The suspect, bleeding, ran outside the bar, where he collapsed.
The gunman died of his wounds at 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
One of the shooting victims died at Temple Hospital, and the other victim remains in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the names of either of the victims or the suspect yet. Stay with NBC Philadelphia for more updates as the story develops.
