A motorist is facing DUI charges after police say he crashed into an Uber car in Northeast Philadelphia overnight.
Accident investigation officers said the crash happened just before 4 a.m. near Academy and Woodhaven roads when the driver went around a tractor trailer. As the driver made his way up a highway ramp, he struck an Uber car, police said.
Police discovered the driver of the striking vehicle was driving under the influence at the time, authorities said. He was taken to Aria Health Torresdale hospital to be treated for minor injuries and is expected to face charges.
The Uber driver was not injured.
